New Routine

Ok folks, so I’ve tried, tested, initiated and attempted many different things since the beginning of the year to try and fit everything in to my new life and routine but I now have come to the conclusion: I have to get up earlier in the morning!! So starting next week (after this hellish week is over, I’m barely coming up for air now to write this), I’m starting with a new sheet of paper, crayons and attitude and getting up at 6am every morning! Can I do it?  Of course I can, I just have to put my mind to it! Plus now that we’re headed towards spring, and lighter and warmer days-  who wants to stay in bed anyway right?! It’s the only way I will be able to do all the things I need to do while simultaneously staying fit and keeping my routine. Starting March 1 I will have to get “down and dirty” –  my last “bad habit” and stop drinking wine, plus trumping up my cardio to lose the last bit of fat so I can get ready for summer! I still haven’t decided 100% on the shows I’m doing, as I’m waiting to get more stabilized financially (shows are expensive, this hobby is expensive!) so I can focus 100% on my condition.

My week will look like this:

Monday:   Shoulders and abs (praying my shoulder will get better soon), plus 30 min of cardio

Tuesday:  Hams & Glutes

Wednesday:  Back plus 30 min light cardio (I don’t like doing cardio on or after leg day but where am I supposed to do it and it has to get done??)

Thursday:  Triceps, Abs, Calves, Forearms, 40 min of cardio

Friday:   Quads

Saturday:  40 min cardio

Sunday: off

I am also in the process of changing up my workouts – I’ve been doing the same thing now for months, and even though I’m improving weight wise, I think I need to “shock” my body and do something else.  Once I’ve got it all figured out I will post details! Now I’m back to work – have a great rest of the week everyone!!

  1. Welcome to the rising with the sun crowd, I’ve been doing it for so long now that it is no biggie, not to mention the morning calmness with the rising sun is a awesome time to workout.
Question, how long does your weight workouts last? Out of curiosity and since I haven’t had time to really learn about Pauline, but how much cardio does she do?
Next week I’ll be rising with the sun once again in Hawaii, we will see how it feels after five years away from there, though I can’t wait to have my Hawaiian coffee!!!!!!

    1. Mikaela – how exciting that you’re finally moving back to Hawaii!! Congrats!! I know you have been dying to go back, so I’m really happy to hear your news! To answer your question: My weight work out lasts anywhere between 40 minutes to 1 hour, depending on how I feel, but never longer than 1 hour. These days I lift very heavy, with lower reps, and I get exhausted quickly. As far as Pauline, I know she does cardio twice a day – some high intensity and some lower intensity I believe, duration I couldn’t tell you because I know it varies also, probably from 20 minutes to 1 hour each time. Needless to say: She does a lot! When building muscle this is not recommended however – keep in mind she has been lifting weights for years and have TONS of lean muscle, I would not suggest this to someone who needs to grow. Maximum 30 minutes per time and no more than 5 days a week, but I know that is a joke to you so you will just have to deal with the fact that it will take you longer to build! 🙂
Have a great weekend and best of luck on your move!

    1. OK guys, now you have me feeling bad – I won’t ever complain about having to get up at 6 am ever again, lol!! Nice to hear from you too Sally! 🙂
