Time Crunch

This year has really gotten off to a crazy start! The first week of January has FLOWN by, I can’t believe it’s already a week since we got back from Norway.  Preparing for three gigs this weekend plus starting my new job has really kicked my a%% and so I’ve had minimum time to devote to myself.  Even so, I have been to the gym every day this week and I even visited a new gym yesterday – Gold’s Gym – which is actually closer to where I live. It takes me 15 minutes to drive there, as opposed to my current gym, NYSC – which snags an additional hour out of my day driving 30 min each way.  I loved Gold’s – it’s a big open gym with lots of different equipment and they also have a boxing room which I love. I have been thinking about taking some private boxing lessons to get some other fun cardio in – I’m bored with the treadmill and the stepmill although not bored enough to not do it of course, lol! Gold’s gym is also open 24/7, which will help me in the upcoming weeks and months when I’m really crunched for time.

What has suffered this week is my eating schedule – I haven’t been eating enough, and I haven’t timed my nutrients the way I normally do.  I’m down 2 lbs since I got back from Norway and I can feel my body slowly snapping back into place. I now just need to focus on getting some really great, focused sessions in at the gym, hitting my back and legs hard especially.  It’s a big challenge to have enough energy to put into thinking about my two jobs, working out, my diet, my husband, two dogs and all the friends in my life that mean so much to me. But instead of complaining about it I thank God every day that I’m so fortunate to have all of these things in my life.  I was never a person to sit around and twiddle my thumbs and so I’ve willed this nutty life into existence and I’m living it! Let’s just see what this month will bring and how I can manage all the different things my schedule calls for – including writing this blog!

  1. Happy New Year Sunny!

I’ve been so lame about posting in the past few months, but I’ve been reading each entry. You are working so hard in every aspect of your life, and even though you haven’t been as focused on your eating and gym sessions as you’d like the be (in your hardcore way) , you’re still a great example and inspiration.

I look forward to seeing you on the stage again this year!

  2. Hi Elizabeth! Thanks so much for your post and the encouraging words, I appreciate it! Yes, my plan is still to be on stage this summer – time to start getting serious!! 🙂
